A White Hollow Body 5 string
I keep looking at this thing on ebay and wondering if it is worth checking out. It keeps drawing me back for some reason. Not a huge investment, I only worry about the neck/body integrity, everything else I can fix.

I'd expect feedback.... He's also selling this to compete with both RIC and Paul....

But for the price it could be worth the try.

At only $139 it might be worth checking out. They make cheap guitars a lot better than they used to.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: A White Hollow Body 5 string
I put a bunch of parts into it, But my 200 dollar Epi Dot Studio is a player! I wish I had time to put the varitone and the P90 in it. The parts are sitting here waiting, and I think I may be able to get caught up by Memorial Day. All that to say it is well made, but with cheaper wood and parts.
The other issue is, I have most of the parts for an Epi Goth Thunderbird IV I'm putting together, so I really don't need another bass at the moment!!

I would say it's a neck-heavy, feedback-prone, p.o.s that will be next to impossible to intonate properly. Just throw $140 out your window as you drive down the freeway.

Well, some would say that about my Dot Studio, but it wouldn't be true.blueflamerick wrote:I would say it's a neck-heavy, feedback-prone, p.o.s that will be next to impossible to intonate properly. Just throw $140 out your window as you drive down the freeway.

The 335 is a tried and true design though, this thing is not

It looks similar to my 12 string, which is Korean made, rather neck heavy, and really nice sounding and playing. Similar body and pickups. Could be worth a shot for the money.

I've got two of those Waterstones...to be fair, they ARE Korean, excellent value for money (Tom Petersson of Cheap Trick plays and endorses this model), but also not in the same price range as the subject of this thread, which is Chinese. The cost to build the Chinese white 5-string bass in its entire glory, is roughly half the cost of a genuine RIC wiring harness, or about $37-$40. I'd be willing to say that this will equate to a pair of $1.50 pickups, too.
I don't think we can infer that this will be terrible to play or intonate. It could be neck-heavy (though it has a small head and only one extra tuner). You can expect a decent polyester finish, cheapo electronics and strings, and a so-so fretboard. The neck will be a a stump. At $140, it's not too much of a risk, though.
