It's just a Schecter, it's no doubt annoying that they'd advertise it like that. Yeah it's got the horns, but nothing really looks like a Rick bass to me unless it's got a pickguard and something horseshoe-like.

Schecter has been making that model for a several years. I don't know how they are getting away with it. I guess maybe the body isn't exact enough, just having enough of a change to get a pass. I personally think it's too close to the 4000 series shape.

I was in a music store a few months ago, and saw one of these in black, and did a double take myself...

The fact that it's called the 004 is a bit fishy and might indicate their intentions. They didn't do too good of a job though, the thing is ugly as hell

It's Rickenbacker influenced, but I don't think it will fool anybody.

It's denigrating proper Fakers to call that one! :P

Ironically, it's pretty much a 1984 Ibanez Roadstar II copy:

I suppose you could call both of these basses "Rick-influenced", but if you're analytical, the similarities begin & end at the sharp inner edge of the horns.

I do quite like those Schecters, probably because of the similarities to the vintage Ibby (Yes, I am weird. What of it? :D ) but I prefer this finish:

But they're ugly and uninspired. For me, a guitar's gotta play great and look great.

overall, it seems clunky-looking,altho i do really like the sculptural headstock. it doesn't come close to the sleekness of the 4000 series, looks more like an upscale fender.....
