Hello.

Post by fireglo67 »

Hi there. I've read these pages for a long time but I've registered to post as I've just been thrown off the official Rickenbacker forum (???????)

It's nice to be here.

Ahoy, matey. The official RIC forum has been offline for a few days. This forum is better anyways.

Welcome aboard!

Much more friendly than over at that corporate end of town. Heaps of helpful threads on all things Rick and more, and people just waiting to help :D

Oh and of course this site is much more reliable IMHO

Si....

Both places are friendly because both places are frequented by many of the same people, but its good to have you aboard Bob.

Welcome, It doesn't take much for them to kick you from the other forum.
Here, you can actually question Rickenbacker's business practices for instance,
many will leap to their defense, but it isn't a death sentence.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm not really sure why I was booted off the official forum.

I bought a 360/12 that had major issues, I wasn't happy (but I never divulged the nitty gritty to anyone on or off the forum), returned the guitar to the shop, got my money back, thought long and hard (about 2 mins) and bought another one, and then told everyone how happy I was about it.

Next thing I know my account had been deleted, I emailed the webmaster to ask why but had no reply.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to some top exchanges on this site, my band has 3 Rick players, (330/12, 360/12, 330/6) I just love 'em! :)

I've never been a member of the official board (and therefore had no chance to be booted off there either) so i cannot really say anything about it, but this forum is — well, a very nice one. Lots of nice and friendly chaps here.

Welcome matey! Arrrr!!! As a recent convert to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I appreciate the pirate reference! But that's another story, innit?

I absolutely MUST hear your band with 3 Rick players!!! That must sound like a million dollars.

Mateybob, great to see you hear and welcome. If you haven't already, post a link to your music in the artists section so the folks here can enjoy it as well. I know I certainly enjoyed it, and can't wait to hear more of it. I think you will also find this forum a little more friendly and open than the RIC one, and you can type in Janglebox, Hipshot, Pyramid, and other words that won't get changed on you when you post. I'm not knocking RIC, as theirs is corporate owned and operated, so they set the rules.

Mateybob, I can't believe they have kicked you off of the RIC forum. I am aware of your situation and postings, and I can say as a matter of fact that you handled your situation like a total gentleman, and ended up buying another Rickenbacker in the end. What more of an endorsement to their products and practices could they have wanted? I run through these forums (way too) often and have never seen anything you've posted to be offensive to anyone. I'm sure that this must be some kind of error related to the work they're doing to their site.

I don't intend to be, but I've posted some questions and/or opinions from time to time that might possibly have made RIC decide to give me the boot, and cannot believe that your membership status has been terminated. I love Rickenbackers and RIC as a corporation, but don't agree with every little thing that they do, and sometimes ask them what the deal is. Also, it is always my intention here to not offend anyone, but with my warped sense of humour, it's bound to happen. I apologize in advance to anyone if by some chance I do.

Again, welcome, and great to see you here.

Again, thanks for the kind words everyone.

And Mike (whoJamFan) It's great to chat to you on here as well as the official, your posts are always entertaining and always make sense, you're definitely a kindred spirit! :) (not that I want to marry you or anything, but I bet 90% of your record collection is the same as mine!)

I can see I'm going to love it on here......
