4004Cii

Post by ricaddic »

Ok the moment of truth has arrived, my 4004Cii FG, has arrived at Pick of the Ricks yesterday around 3:05pm (est), today I will go pick her up, Chris said she is very nice the way they did the finish, im excited about her arriveal, just hopeing I like the sound she produces, I remember back in -06 the first time I went to Chris's store he had a monty brown 4004Cii, I remember playing it and not really careing for it, my main focus was a 4003, which I did buy that day, but after talking to Rickenbrother and Chris about adding something different to my ever growing arsenal decided to go for the 4004Cii, well will get back to you on my thoughts of her , will give her a good workout tonight, take good care and please stay safe.

after having mine for slightly over a year now,i finally got the chance to hear it in a a band setting (drums/guitar/female vox) last night. i already knew it was a great-sounding bass, but holy #%^@! it is not your daddy's 60's rickbass tone, but it is very very good nonetheless, extremely powerful,as others have said, the pickups almost sound active (but to my ears, better than..) i was playing fingerstyle, most of the songs were of the classic rock/pop/blues variety.(benatar/aretha/etta james/rondstadt). it even managed a decent psuedo fretless sound for "black velvet" playing the rear pickup soloed with the tone rolled off....whew! i love this bass!!!

I didn't play it, Tony, but I did see that it had an unfinished fingerboard. And, as you can see, some lovely tiger striping!

I made it in time. A very nice bass in person! I am still a Laredo guy (thanks again, Brian) but for those who like cii's Angelo's is extremely nice. The neck is very thin (front to back) and the the fireglo is nicely done (sort of medium rare to well done). Now I have to go back again to see the BBR's
