Actually, Bill Rieflin is a superb drummer and though no-one can take Bill Berry's place, and Bill R would never suggest he is taking his place, he has filled that slot better than anyone else could possibly have done. And some.

Bill R plays all the old songs brilliantly with his own take on it. He has done a brilliant job on Accelerate. It really is time he was recognised as the superb musician that he is and not always berated because he is sitting up there instead of Bill Berry. I get fed up of hearing complete idiots yelling out Bill Berry's name at shows. Give him a break. He works damned hard!

Sorry, not having a go at you, just trying to point out how good a drummer R.E.M. have got themselves now. :D

I said nothing detracting from the replacement drummer, but I'm a Berry fan. Before I actually started liking REM, which is only in the last few years. I did always like the way Berry played.

I like Bill Berry too. I always wished he was still with the band. I have never seen them live when Bill Berry was playing with them and that is a life long regret. I have been a loyal fan since the end of the 80s. I just think Bill Rieflin is brilliant and it is horrid hearing some of the rubbish that some stupid people yell out at him. I know that is not you, well, I assume it isn't.

I caught the last few songs. Mills has quite a Fender bass collection now, as he seemed to play a different one each song. Too bad he doesn't get out the old 4001 here and there.

I didn't pay enough attention to the new drummer to want to yell stuff at him.
