My New Lightshow!

Post by fireglo67 »

I've just spent a huge amount of money on this guitar, but on getting it home I'm worried that this Rickenbacker Lightshow may be a fake, there's something about the truss rod cover that just doesn't look right, but then again it could just be a vintage variation of the classic shape.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers.

Rob.

Scotty, well I know for a fact the the strap isn't authentic Rickenbacker, up close it actually looks more cheap and nasty than in the picture, so I'd have to conclude it's definitely vintage Fender. (why anyone would put a fender strap on a guitar of this quality is beyond me, I'm sure we could all discuss this all night....)

Typically for this model, none of the lights now work on the guitar, I'm possibly thinking of sending it to PW, either that or I could put a 9 volt battery in. I want to keep the guitar as 'pure' as possible, so does anyone know where I can get hold of an authentic vintage Rickenbacker 9 volt battery?

Cheers.

I've been working on my own version for some time.

I can't divulge much at present but it does involve Christmas tree lights and superglue.

Sorry, no pics............patent pending. :D
