- After looking round the site for over 9 months now i have finaly joined as i have made the finest purchase of my life. After looking for the perfect rick for the past few years i found somthign that stood out as perfect for me. Although my main bass up till now was a Fender Jaguar and had a pencil thin neck, i am a great fan of slightly beefier necks, so i knew i wanted to aim for something from the late 90's. Secondly although i love white binding and pickguards i wanted something that stood out from the avarage ricks, this meant idealy i wanted black. Lastly i couldnt decided which colour out of your usualy coulors, i wanted something slightly different, both looks and sounds ( the reason i opted for rick in the first place)
When on ebay i saw something that stood out to me as perfect, so i bid away and low and behold i won it! it was alot a plus that the bass had previously been used by Keron of The View (scotish rock band).
Having now been playing her for a few week i have realised how easy it is to set perfect action on a rick, and how to me i have found the finest bass to play in the world, here are (hopefully) some pictures.

Welcome! ... Nice Ric ... I too am a fan of the black trim.
Re: My first Rick Direct from Dundee!!
I think it adds edge to a classic design =p. I love white trim dont get me wrong, but the black just did soemthing for me =].
ive got to say that i did for the first week try to convince myself i could live with the bridge pickup cover, saddly i couldnt, its just on the sweet spot. ahh well she's still the best feeling looking and sounding bass i have layed my hands on. Oh and buying from Dundee also helped me learn all the set up prosedures needed, Although the seller warned about replacing strings one at a time etc, he didnt think about how much of a tempreture difference there would be on this babys journey. The neck was so unbelivably curved when it arrived. its as flat as a pancake now tho. =]

Re: My first Rick Direct from Dundee!!
Certainly not what you would call common........that's for sure!
Re: My first Rick Direct from Dundee!!
Congrats and welcome James. Very nice bass. BT on blue does exist, but as Graham said, not that common. Also, by saying under a grand, you were talking GBP, not USD. right?
