Ricks on the Brain!!!!

Post by jdogric12 »

This is getting scary. At work, I had a fax number cross my desk ending in -4080. Today I look up an address and it's 625. Something is up... anyone else experience this madness? Do I need more or less medication??? :)

Yesterday, I completed and submitted an audit for review that had 360 hours charged to it. It only took 21 months to finish, as I started the audit in July, 2006.

My license plate on my car starts with 666. When I picked up plates at the DMV several years ago, the lady said, "Uh oh, you don't have to take this one. I can give you the next. This one starts with 666!" I said "Coool!"

But that's about to change. I will be receiving my new "vanity" plates in June that read "RIC BASS." I should send the bill to John Hall for advertising!

Who else here parks in their favorite Ric-numbered parking spot?

My car can usually be found in space #325...

This isn't really on the subject that's being discussed, but a friend of a friend of mine was in a band called "668: The Neighbor of The Beast"

Not sure if I told this one already, but...

Two years ago, I applied for California vanity plates for my SAAB. I asked for "381V69". Simple enough for a Rick owner, right?

It came back "refused" because they feared that the "69" part would offend somebody...

I protested and sent them a Rick catalog sheet, with the model number circled. I offered to play in the Capitol rotunda at lunch hour, on my 381V69. I explained at some length the Rickenbacker model numbering scheme...all to no avail. They sent me back another refusal, stating that the only exception they make is for 1969 model year automobiles. ("69 VETTE" and other such nonsense  ).

I gave up and re-applied for "60 CAPRI". I got it without any problem.

The irony is that their refusal came from PO Box 25069, Sacramento,CA.

Interestingly, I had applied for, and gotten, again, without any trouble, "SOD OFF" for my RR Silver Shadow, back in 1996. I explained that it meant, "Don't bother me"...
