In 1975 I was able to get the California vanity plate AQUIK1 ("a quick one") for my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 with no problem; it probably wouldn't fly today in the politically correct era.
I remember seeing back then an older Camaro on I-8 one night with the vanity plate FLICK U and I laughed my a** off ...

Interesting, Gary. I think "AQUIK1" would be acceptable since it's easily interpretable as a description of the car it is attached to, based on PW's experience. Hmm. Something to ponder... what should I get? ooooOOOOOooooo, I know!!! Something about a Dog and an initial and a number of strings.... hmmm...
