The NME once ran a competition to find the best song lyric which replaced one word with the word "brick". "Killing me softly...with his brick" still makes me laugh.

Killing Me Softly was a great song in its day. It's a song that has been panned a lot because it is somewhat syrupy. Having said that I would love to have written that song because I would never have to work another day in my life. :twisted:

Im interested in"Who was the subject of the song?" Ive got this feeling in the back of my head about John Denver or Simon/Garfunkel I know its wrong but does anyone else want to chime in? Is it wrong :? I may add i asked the boys at work today and the repied"Wit,Eh,Talkin aboot!Aye right Scott bye now!"So they dont know either!!!! :D

I think the subject of the song was Don MacLean of American Pie fame.

Act had been number 1 in UK in October 59, singer was originally from Bahamas
