thanks, Nick. It certainly gives new meaning to a photo finish.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Indeed! they can easily be spotted though. If you look at a flamed top like on a Gibson Les Paul, you'll notice the flame looks a bit different when you move the guitar around a bit. fotoflames... always look the exact same.

That's "flip". It is what gives nice grain dimension and it's why I like glossy finishes. Give wood a matte finish, and it looks like Formica®.

Getting wrapped up on buffing out Graham's latest masterpiece  ... This beast, because of the sheer flatness of its surfaces and size, is a real challenge to get p e r f e c t...

Here's the back, following buffing. It's a real brain-teaser trying to read the fine print, upside down and backward, so I flipped it in the third photo...

That's just mean, even if it is your own guitar... I'm thinking that you should play that guitar only while wearing a faux velvet jumpsuit made from the same material as the lining of a vintage Ric case, and with velcro instead of zipper fasteners so that the gorgeous finish is preserved. Either that, or else some sort of outfit stitched together out of diaper cloth-clean diaper cloth, of course.

No, the velcro would be in the inside of the fabric so it would avoid facing outward in any way, and probably have some sort of faux velvet material flap over it, so as to avoid any possiblility of scratching that lovely finish you've just worked so hard polishing to a mirror gloss. :D :D :D :D :D
