Got Rick!

Post by TheVolumeDealer »

First post. Newbie to Rickenbackers too. I justed wanted to stop in and tell the world how incredibly happy I am. Why? Well, my 2008 Rickenbacker 4003 in a gorgeous Fireglo arrived yesterday after a one year wait. Wow, this bass is AWESOME!! It blows my Fender P basses out of the water. I almost feel bad for them as they will likely get very little play time. But, oh well the Rick just has the tone and playability that makes me litterally not want to put the damn thing down. To my ear The vintage setting is incredible and I love how smooth she plays. Sorry for rambling on but I'm sooooo glad It's finally here and even happier this bass is so damn perfect. It was way more than I was expecting in a bass. :D

Peace and Love

Hey Lars, welcome and congratulations on the new FG! You are not rambling on - actually rather restrained after waiting a year! Just teasing. Enjoy and let it challenge you to new musical highs.

P.S. - we should start a home for old Fenders....

Killer Rick and beautiful daughter. Welcome to the forum. To truly understand what a rambling post is, read one of mine. They haven't sent a hit squad out for me yet, so don't worry, your among friends, so pour it on out sir, we'd love to hear it.

Who autographed the V?

Who autographed the V?

The V was autographed by Metallica: Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, and Rob (the new bass player) Trujillo. I met them at a meet and greet in 2004 in Chicago. Nice guys I have a video of James signing the V I should post someday on youtube. It's on my other computer that's about dead so I need to transfer it over before its lost forever. Those guys film everything so at the meet and greet they video taped James coming up to me and saying "my guitar" because he used to play a white V back on the first 2 albums. He had his body guard Gino (i think that's his name) with him I was afraid he might actually just take it. But he didn't he just signed it and smilled for a photo. Image

Nice wall, Lars! The equipment and instruments aren't bad either!

Looks like you have real competition for time on that great 4003FG though. She's a cutie - enjoy her while she's young for they do indeed grow up so fast.
