that is NOT a 60's Rickenbacker ... it is definately a late 70's 4001 .... wasn't this same bass up before with the same false claim of being a '64?

It is NOT worth $2600 ...

Either that is a fake auction or somebody got ripped off ...

Or there is a conspiricay to jack up the prices of Rickenbackers

I emailed the seller and the buyer and informed them that it is not a '64 bass and it was not worth $2600 ... I said it is worth about $750 ...

Haha! If this has been appraised at $ 3500, I sure wonder how much my 4080 is worth... S***!

A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Seriously though, I wish I had something that resembled a 4001 CS right now. I'd sell it and buy a couple of new 4003's.

No wait Jeff, you should post it up there as a "custom order Five String", kinda like that "custom shop" 1976 fretless that got listed with a $4000 starting price....

The way they are going nuts for cream colored basses, Chris Squire basses and tuxdedo basses ... man I am tempted ... With $4000 to $6000 I could buy a 4004CII5 and a 4004L and a 4003 .... cool ...
