Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
Here's one that Roy probably knows off by heart because he is the biggest Searcher fan on the planet. Anyway here we go.
What future US Congressman co-wrote the Searchers 1964 hit "Needles and Pins" roughly 30 years before being elected to the House of Representatives?

Hey Brian
Was that Sonny from Sonny and Share ?????
Hi Howard
Not sure about Reg Presley's real name........was it Elvis ?????
As for Dingeman Van Der Sluys..... was that Harry Vanda from The Easybeats. Just a wild guess.

Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
Hi Shane. Yep the same Sonny Bono from Sonny and Cher although I like your idea of changing her name to Share much better.

Hi Brian
I couldn't resist.

4 very popular brands of British amplifiers; some were in use professionaly in the late the 1950' and they all were in use to the very early 1960's, were quickly over shadowed by Vox amplifiers made by JMI (Jennings Musical Industries).
Other than Vox, name the four most popular brands of British built amplifiers used by professional musicians of this era.

Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
Incorrect on both counts, Shane... although you're warm on the second one.
I would think one of those brands would have to be Selmer, Brian. I'm told that The Beatles used them before Vox came along and threw masses of gear at them.
The others? Working on it...............

Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
Hi Aitch,
Yes that's one down.
Selmer was a very popular high end amplifier used by most beat and R&B groups that could afford them. The Animals used them before they switched to Vox for example. Adam Faith and The Roulettes used them as well just to give you an idea of how widely they were used.

Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
Sorry, Shane. I just realised that you got the second one right.... I asked for the band and not the member of the band. So what's his 'stage' name?
I could throw in Marshall, Brian, but it's so bleeding obvious it doesn't seem to fit in with the cryptic nature of the questions in this thread.
Maybe Hiwatt is another?

Re: Rock and Roll Trivia
That's a good guess Aitch, but not the right one in this instance.
Marshall became really popular just a little bit later than the period that I am looking at. I am looking for British made amplifiers that early rock and roll bands, beat groups and R&B groups were using.
