Looks original to me. Jetglo with the BT (Black Trim) option.

Yup, original. I sure wish that seller would take more and better pictures showing all important parts of the bass. One really wants to know what one is getting into....

Full width inlays would make it perfect..but who's perfect?

Is it really.?

Seems customizes, very well done, but screws were not black? I have in my 4003FLBT.
And year 2000 as seller telling. Does ric really have BT option at 2000?

I noticed that in ebay have time to time self customized black hardware ricks. Before you pay overprice, try to ask it from factory.

Real shadow/ blackstars are made at eightie´s and price has been over 5-6000 dollars.

Yeah that's what I always thought. I was thinking about bidding on this one too, but not if it's just an overpriced JG with black hardware.

I believe BT instruments were still being made as late as 2002.

Well. At first I noticed that not many have black screws as I have, but I´m quite shure, that this ebay-bass is not factory customized.

As this link of factory forum tells, they actually done at early eighties some "short period" as JH told, over painted binding JG basses. Not anymore year 2000, I presume.

Also I´m quite shure that they hadn´t black trim option anymore at 2000.

As I said, try to contact first factory and confirm original finish of that bass before you buy it. Maybe some one kind person will help you.

Nice looking bass, but value is under the question.

The seller has this to say

"Yes, I guarantee that this is all factory original and had to be custom ordered. You are correct about the black trim option ending in the early 90’s, but Rickenbacker allowed these to be custom ordered for a few years in the Jetglo finish. PM Blues in Rhode Island has a 1997 330 in the same finish."

Still not too sure though...

The BT option was available as late as 2000 or 2001. I've owned several JG basses with the BT option that I purchased new from a Rick dealer after 2001. I still own one of the basses. It even has the factory VP option.
