Nolan, if what John A tells you to do checks out okay, maybe you should clean the eyelet and the area of the surround that the eyelet touches with a pencil eraser to remove any oxidation that may have formed on them.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Yeah- or just get a $10 multimeter off ebay. They're damn handy to have in the toolbox.

Set it to 'diode' - Put one probe on the strings- and touch the other all around the bass and any point in the circuit that is supposed to be earthed. It should beep if connections are good.
You could achieve the same thing by taking apart a cheap torch and attaching probes to each side of the switch.

Yeah I'm just debating to do it now or when I change my strings. Clean the eyelet and under the surround that is. I'm still contemplating shielding the underside of the pick guard also but I'm not sure yet.
