Awesome collection Mike--we should get together--I have a c58MG, you have the 325/12...between us we span Lennon's 325 era!

Yeah, no doubt. A friend and fellow bandmate has a c58 in Alderglo so I told him I get first dibs on it if he ever decides to sell it. Fun little guitars for sure.wj350 wrote:Awesome collection Mike--we should get together--I have a c58MG, you have the 325/12...between us we span Lennon's 325 era!

Don't know if that q was pointed to Mike or the general populace, but I'll chime in anyway. I've got two with Ric roller bridges, and two with bowties. No issues with either, though obviously the bowtie offers less fine adjustment than the Ric bridge, which, in my limited opinion, is a pretty darn good bridge. Both style tuners are very tight (one of my c58s is an '03 model, so she has a few year on her).
The only times I've heard of folks having problems with intonation came from trying to use too light of a gauge of string (lighter than 12s, though there are some who swear by their lighter gauge strings), and from folks who have had an issue with either a nut slot or mis-cut bowtie bridge.

No serious issues as I use .13s on all of the six stringers. The high E string wiggles around the saddle on the roller bridge a little bit but not enough to cause trouble. The 325/12 can be challenging to tune at times, like most Ric 12s. I'm using the standard Ric 12 set on it, but I'm sure a custom set might work better on it.kieran campbell wrote:do any of your 3/4 Rics have any Tuning or intanation problems?

I've never had any issues with the tuning/intonation on my 325's. That includes the 325/12. I put together a set of strings from 2 packages of D'Addario Chromes in 12 gauge and added the needed singles. They chime perfectly. I had too much trouble with the standard 12 string set which really did cause a lot of tuning issues.

Very cool score, Mike. Props to you for having gooood taaaaste! How is that Accent vibrato treatin' you? Play on, pick often, jam with Toast(ers)®, and prosper, brah.....G-foot.

Does anyone recall the actual string gauges that shipped on the 325/12v63 when new?lennon211 wrote:I've never had any issues with the tuning/intonation on my 325's. That includes the 325/12. Re: New Ric 325c64
My 325/12 test body had a custom set of heavy gauge Rick strings when I got it. I assume these were original, as the guitar was mint and mostly unplayed. They were made up of individual strings. Since individual Rick strings are unavailable, it took me three sets of .012-.053 Rick strings to make up a proper combination. I'd have to be at home with the guitar, however, to measure them and post the measurements.
Even then the V63 could have had a different set.

".. The 325/12s were strung with sets in which the main string gauges were 12 16 24Wound 32 42 54 the octave string gauges being 12 16 12 16 24Wound 32..."
