Re: String question
When I had my '03 Fender AV '62 Jazz Bass I put TI Jazz Flats on it, sounded great; I also had TI JFs on the '04 4004Cii i used to own.
Re: String question
I'm gonna look into these TI's. How much do they usually run? By the way, there's nothing better than a Kangaroo drinking a Foster's

Re: String question
I don't know about that, Nolan. Trotty and Aitch have said that Australians don't drink Fosters.Spacehog wrote: By the way, there's nothing better than a Kangaroo drinking a Foster's
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Not down here. That's why we export it. We keep the good stuff for ourselves. The kangaroo is drinking Coopers Pale Ale.Spacehog wrote:Everyone drinks Foster's

Re: String question
+1 for Labella Deep Talkin' Bass, and Coopers Pale Ale.
Re: String question
I have a set of TI flats on a fretless I have and think they sound great. Not my main instrument, but I took them off an EB-3 I put them on 6mos ago, put Rotosound Black plastic tapewounds on it, and put the TIs on a fretless I just got by trading some **** I didn't need. The strings, even after being transplanted, sound great,IMHO.
FWIW, I strung the POTR 12 string TI flat set on my 360/12FGVP almost a year ago, and love them. I play this guitar quite often, and find the strings still sound great.

Next you're going to tell me you don't have Outback Steakhouse down there.mdeayton wrote:Not down here. That's why we export it. We keep the good stuff for ourselves. The kangaroo is drinking Coopers Pale Ale.Spacehog wrote:Everyone drinks Foster's
When I was in Sydney two years ago I had some kind of beer that was, for lack of a better term, very sparkly. Almost like champagne. I thought it was Cooper's, but I had more than a few that night. I enjoyed the beer down there.
Also, I personally prefer LaBellas to TI Jazz Flats, but it could be because I like coated strings.
Re: String question
I hate coated strings. They feel . . . slimey to me. I don't know why they just do. I'm interested in a comparison of the Pyramid flats and the Ti's though. I mean the Pyramids seem to be 20 bucks more than the TI's. I wonder what the difference is tonally.
And just so you all know, the Kangaroo . . . can drink whatever he wants. Because he's a Kangaroo and he doesn't know any better

Re: String question
I had Pyramids on my 4003 before I switched to the TI JF344 set. I like the TI strings better. The Pyramids have way more tension, and I had some tail lift from them. Once I put on the TI strings, the tail lift was reduced a lot. I also put some washers under the tailpiece, which helped flatten out the tailpiece. I think the TI strings sound as good if not better than the Pyramids.
Re: String question
my tailpiece has screws holding it down. whats the difference in tension between the pyramids and the Ti's?

Re: String question
I was all about the Cooper's Red when I was down in Oz. In fact, when Aitch was in Chi town about a year and a half ago, it was the perfect excuse for me to stock a twelver of red in case he was a little homesick.mdeayton wrote: Not down here. I don't hate Foster's though. It ain't bad cold. Now, Budweiser...that's bad!
