Thanks guys for lifting my spirits a bit. There is a college radio station near me that does play some good material. And we have one real good classic rock station here too. There are 2 country stations that are OK as well. I alternate them with a conservative talk radio station to break things up a bit and keep on top of current affairs. It's nice to know that some good new rock is still being made. It's just a little bit of a downer to see some of my music heros walk off into the sunset. Although since Macca's 65, I can certainly understand it though.

Obviously this will happen eventually and when it does it will be a sad day for me.

For us Macca fans, with the exception of the early to mid 80’s we have to say we pretty lucky. .I’ve been fortunate to have caught him on every tour starting with paying a cop in May of ’76 at MSG including being at the foot of the stage at the Ed Sullivan theater for the taping of the VH1 Up Close special. You still can’t get enough though…

I sometimes wonder with all the older rockers heading off into the sunset, and with all the rap, hip/hop and grunge garbage on the airwaves now. Is the rock 'n roll era coming to an end? The only places I hear what I call real rock is on the classic rock and oldies stations. Yeah, some of the bands are still playing, but you don't hear anything new, because the radio stations won't play it. Perhaps I'm just getting old.

I hope Macca comes to NC. I'd love to see him one last time.

I missed the tour the last time he came through Raleigh because of work. I'm not going to miss it again. I figure there are a few states around I would travel to in order to see his concert.

95.7FM is a good station for classic rock and I think they've got a location in Hickory. It was better when it first came on the air, but compared to the other classic rock stations, it is still the best around.

Yeah, 95.7 is the best here in Hickory for classic rock. It was though much better when it first came on the air. 91.7, which is the station run by Gaston College is good for blues and newer rock during the week.

I got to see Macca back in 1989 in Raleigh at Carter-Finley Stadium. That was the last show I got to see with my sister before her health problems began to surface. She passed away in 2004. I also saw Macca in Columbia SC in 1993. Both were great shows. I'll try to catch this one too if he comes close enough.
