Where are X.T.C.?
Much as I love this forum and all it stands for there is a shocking oversight. Why no picture of Dave Gregory from X.T.C. with one of his many Rickies. The mans work speaks for itself, there is wondrous 12 stringing on The English Settlement and Skylarking. A band of true genius. I think he played a 360-12 in jetglo among others.

I love XTC...great songs and playing....
Dave Gregory...the guy knows his George Harrison licks....I wish he would have stayed with the band....but unfortunatly he got tired of the bass players sappy toons, a bit of McCartney and the fact that Andy doesnt tour....
my favorite album is "Black Sea"....
I like the forum but I know what you mean most people are only into Beatles, Byrds and Searchers...I love thoses bands but theres other bands folks..

To all those who wish to add photos to the Rickenbacker Registration Page of Rickenbacker artists by all means please send them along. In order to post them you will need: permission from the artist; permission from the photographer; the details surrounding the dates and venues, followed by a nice compression of the jpeg. When you have that as a package I would be very pleased to post any and all photos. For the record, this ground work seldom accompanies requests to have additional artists added. There is nothing I like more than adding additional information. I just need the gift of Time! XTC is a fine group and I would be expecially pleased to add photos of Dave Gregory.

Look into the area listed as Pick of the Month.
Three lovely Ricks in there.

Check out "Pick of the Month" on http://www.guitargonauts.com for a fabulous story on Dave Gregory's latest Rick.
Ughh. . . reminded of XTC in a very unpleasant way. I was writing lesson plans at one of the local chain bookstores. . . and heard some Cheryl Crow or (_________________) generic female "singer-songwriter" on the piped in music. . .thinking. . .*yawn*. After about 10 seconds I realized she was singing "Senses Working Overtime" but in the gutless, characterless way typical of current pop music. I was horrified. That's one song that absolutely needs a British accent on the vocals. It also does well with a Rick 12. Unfortunately both were absent.
What a travesty.
What a travesty.

Yeah, I did a search to find out about other covers of "Five Senses Working Overtime", to see who else had covered it and found Spacehog listed. I couldn't find out what album it had been on, maybe it was a single. I'd love to hear them do it.
Like when Pantera did, "Highway Star" by Deep Purple, I thought I'd hate it. Much to their credit, they did a pretty cool version of it.

Just an update here.
Everybody on this forum NEEDS to get _Chips off the chocolate fireball_ NOW. It's the Dukes of Stratosphear album. IMO it's as good or better than anything else in their catalog. "Your My Drug" (great 12-string playing) is worth the price of admission alone.
