This Forum - an amazing thing
Maybe I'm getting too pensive in my old age... But recently it struck me just how awesome the whole idea of this forum and the internet which allows it to happen is.
Think back 20 years ago - you'd probably be lucky to know one or two other Rick enthusiasts. I stumbled upon the the first hint of what was to come in the mid-90's when i found a Rickenbacker message board, back when Compuserve charged by the second. But even that was such a cool thing. (Bought a 360-12 from Bob Belloff via that board.) Now there's a wealth of knowledge and a community of fellow travellers just a click away. Some things are better today.

Yes, indeed. And think back even twenty years ago; how many folks did you know who had a home computer sitting on their desks?

+1 on the forum/internet. My first Rick was a '91 360/12 FG bought in 1996 from a newspaper ad, after looking for a year.Times have changed!
My first confluence I described as "meeting the one of me from every city"

Frank, welcome and thanks for your comments. They are very true.
In 1997, while looking to make contacts to buy a Rickenbacker guitar, I found it difficult to get information. I stumbled upon The Rickenbacker Project and then created a newsgroup before moving to the forum format.
The community has turned out to be bigger than I thought.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Thanks Peter, both for the greeting and for making all of this possible.
I'm wondering if the board you started was the one I stumbled upon back then.

This has all been quite wonderful.....
The vision of one, or many, and the technology to impliment it. Don't let anyone tell you, life is not as good as it was...
