The climb is over. Why search for something like that when I finally find a project?

Price was not offensive at all if you consider the price of a neck pickup,pickguard and pots. Should run more than what I paid.

Funny thing was I saw someone selling a horseshoe pickup on another board in the forum, that's why I bought this item.Unfortunately it was gone before I got it.

I'll have to think about it. Either that or you sell me your project;-).

Give me a couple of days to mull it over. The other reason I grabbed it was this guy definately sold it too cheap.

Think about it - On Mike Parks site he sells the pickup for $89,pickguard for $49(non-Rickenbacker),wiring harness with pots etc $60 and toggle switch $21.That's $219 to puchase new parts.These are vintage.

At the risk of being greedy,my thought was to just relist it on ebay with those facts and probably see a nice dollar.

Of course a nice non-ebay transaction to a fellow Ric poster is not out of the question.

I hear where you're coming from... FWIW I wouldn't need the pickup, since I bought a toaster from a fellow board poster.

There is also the possibility that the guard may not even fit my '72 correctly...

I'm actually just waiting to hear from a couple of dealers who sound like they might have a project bass for me, if not, then I'll probably sell it.

He's had for the pickguard for sale three different times, I've done some business with the seller a few times, good guy to deal with. He seems to come up with Vintage Ric bass cases quite often.

Al Molinaro used to have a vintage g'tar store on Sunset Blvd in Hollyweird. His store was rigth accross the Guitar Centers vintage equipment store.

His RIC cases are blems-but look good to me.

He just finished a Fender bass book last year

Hey Marc, could you clue me in on those dealer friends of yours with project basses? I've been looking for some time now but can't seem to find anything but disasters like the one on evilbay. Most of the dealers I've contacted want to sell me a new one (have one already thank you) or a vintage instrument I would'nt want to experiment on. Thanks for your help

Man... at just $750, I thought for sure that someone would've already snapped it up for "resurrecting"... er, uh... "refurbishing"!
