4001C64 and roundwounds
Hello lads !
My first post here. I've been lurking here for a bit now and most of my questions could be answered with a swift click on the search button. This time however, I couldn't find an answer.
While looking for a 4003, I stumbled upon what appears to be a reasonably priced 4001C64. Now, what I'd like to know is if the lads at RIC went all vintage on this reissue, or put a beefy neck on there with two rods so one could use roundwounds on it.
thank you,
V!N

The 4001c64 can definitely handle rounds. And welcome! Let's see pics if/when you pick it up!

Welcome Vince!
Yes, a C64 is structurally modern but retro in look. Go for it!
BTW, cool air guitar avatar!

c64s have gotten more expensive as of late. If you can pick one up for a decent price, I say go for it.
welcome btw!

Thank you for the replies and the warm welcome ! Nice to see there are more Dutchies that like the growl of this bass.
The C64 I found is about two years old and has a tog on it for about € 1.600,- (US$ 2.500,-)

Buy it. It's quite unlikely you'll find one for less.

Good price for a Dutchie!
I payed about 1750 euros for my v63.

I paid less for mine (new), but you have a big problem finding one I think. You do take into account that it'l cost you a lot more to get it in Holland? Shipping is about 300 dollar. Then there's an additional 3 % import tax, and on top of this is 19 % over the total of instrument costs + shipping. But Hey! We dont have to sell our instruments to get braces for our kids because dental costs for kids are free over here.V!N wrote:Thank you for the replies and the warm welcome !
