Weight guessing game

Post by doctorwho »

Here is a list, in chronological order, of six of my Rickenbacker basses. See if you can put them in the correct order based on their weights, from lowest to highest.

1975 4001S WHT WT
1977 4000 FL BG
1982 4002 WAL
1986 4003 SPC Shadow
1987 4001v63 FG
1989 4003S/5 SPC 'quasi-Blackstar'

One guess per person, please! No prize for the first to get the order correct, this is for fun. I may indicate whether someone is close. :D

All right, I'll take a shot at it...

Heaviest to lightest:
1982 4002 (because of the body)
1989 4003s5 (extra tuners weigh more)
1986 Shadow
1977 4000
1987 V63
1975 White (we all know white is light, like a marshmallow)

Not there yet. I will wait to give out any clues so that others can guess.

If I answer in the correct order and in the fastest time, do I get a chance at one million dollars?

We have a winner! :) :)

Here are the weights:
1977 4000 FL BG 8.70 lbs
1975 4001S WHT WT 9.05 lbs
1986 4003 SPC Shadow 9.10 lbs
1989 4003S/5 SPC 'quasi-Blackstar' 9.45 lbs
1982 4002 WAL 9.65 lbs
1987 4001v63 FG 9.95 lbs

A tricky part was to remember that the 4003S/5 SPC 'quasi-Blackstar', although it has the extra tuner, has an all-maple fretboard (no rosewood).

Brian, I think that your question has been answered ... better luck next time! :)

I almost had it. Then I scrolled down and saw the answer. I had #5 and #6 reversed, 'cuz my 4002 is one heavy-@$$ed bass!

*Can no longer play a Rick bass because its too heavy!

If you do, save it by sending it to the other Jeff that wouldn't do such a thing to it. :D

Not that Jeff, I mean the one in Cleveland!!!
