But you are only hearing one sound from each guitar on Youtube, different settings give different sounds. :)

You are right.

The 650 Dakota is consigned to the annals of history........

None of my superb songs will be thrashed from a one of those babies I'm afraid..... :)

Dakotas are great, Mateybob. Rickenbacker humbuckers sound chameleon-like through my tube amps.....from Strat to SG tones and everything in between, IMHO. Quietest 'buckers I've ever played. Go for it if still available. Just my dos centavos' worth. Play on, pick often, and prosper. Best regards.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Not so fast there. We still have a large number of 650D's to build... We just stopped taking orders for them temporarily as they are on hiatus. You might still be able to get your hands on one of the ones we will build this year!

Now that's an interesting thing.......

Because the shop that offered me the great deal on the Dakota swore blind that a shipment was on it's way to the UK and would be here within 2 weeks, but you're saying the models haven't even been made yet?

I think I need to make a phone call.......

Yeah, well, I assure you that there are no Dakotas, from our factory that is, getting shipped ANYWHERE within the next two weeks (or two months for that matter).

I am very curious to what the new 650D/S designs will entail. The model has always been one of my favorite looking guitars.
