Lots of Rick basses at once

Post by jdogric12 »

I had kind of a Rick bass orgy today, and thought y'all would like to hear it. Check it out. Notes are below the link.

almost forgot also...

The recording setup:

All basses are running Ric-o-sound (except the mono 4003S/5) into two separate Tube MP preamps, into a ProTools MBox (type 1) with the bass pickup on the left and the treble pickup on the right.

I'm not sure if I like this. The 4002 sounds a whole lot more interesting than I expected. And I am a huge neck pickup fan! thanx for recording this!

JD, Love the 4003FL sound, sounded like Robert Palmer (Every Kind of People)
I would have guessed that mystery bass #1 was 4005 with the treble pu engaged, very similar.

Mystery #1 is the Shadow. Mystery #2 is the 5'er. Okay, how wrong am I?

BTW, there is a serious shortage of flatwound strings in your bass collection!

TI's, man. Put 'em on something.

I have flats on the fretless! :) And the 325/12, but it's not a bass. :(
