Di Adario Chromes flatwound ECB81 on my beatle bass.
Rotosound rounds for my Ripper.
Just ordered a set of Gretsch country-western style flats for my 320. I forget exactly which set but I'll let you know how they sound (for 19 bucks).
Someday I'll get a 4000 series number and string it with the best flats I can afford (Chromes, TI's, Pyramids).

I've been using D'Addario strings almost exclusively since '81. I use D'Addario XL170 and XL170-5 nickel sets, except if I want more brightness and power I'll use the D'Addario EPS 170 and EPS 170-5 stainless steel sets. On my '75 4001FL, I use the D'Addario Chromes EC B80SL set.

dr sunbeam 45-100 set on my 4000,4004cii,and aspen/st blues jazz bass. ghs flats 40-100 on the dano hodad. i love the pyramid flats, had 'em on the 4000,but the tension was worrisome. they sounded great tho, with the rounds on there now,i am enjoying a different sound from the 4000.(raw!)

TI Flats for me. I switched to them from Pyramids. I like the TIs better.

77 T-Bird - D'Addario Slowwound rounds - NOS (discontinued) - why even get a bird if your gonna put flats on it?

I'd really like to try some Pyramids on my rick - can anyone describe these strings for me? How is the tension in comparison to TI Flats?
T-Birds sound great with Chromes on them.

Pyramids have much greater tension than TI's, also sound a lot better (to me), they are thuddy but clear but their price is in the stratosphere for some reason, Chromes beat both.

Oh, Chromes are my favorite at this time and have been for a few years now.
