Correct, Energy cabs do not have grill cloth but have a metal grill that covers the speakers. The speakers and grills are recessed into the cabinet so they are more or less flush with the front. The grill is so securely mounted that I still haven't figured out how to take it off without damaging something (no screws or visible clips) and there is no other way to get inside the cabinet. The 1x15 model is equipped with a front loaded 4 ohm 300 watt McCaulley and is a very tight sounding cabinet.

I really don't recall exactly what was used to finish the cabinets but I think it's some sort of polymer based material used in the aerospace industry applied as a laminate. Tough stuff really and very slick too. A very light amp or one with with hard rubber/plastic feet could easily slide off. I probably have the paper work archived somewhere from when it was new which would have better information.

Thanks for resurrecting the old Squire pics! I was in high school during the Fragile/Close to the Edge days; back then we guys fell into two distinct musical camps: the art rock guys (Yes, ELP, Kansas, et al) and the Dead Heads (most of whom are in jail, I would assume). Don't remember what the girls listened to, Leo Sayer or some such I would guess.

Back to Squire gear: In the Keys To Ascension video there is one of those Marshall "micro" stacks perched on Chris' rig, any idea what that is for?

Thanks again for the pictures.

I had a 66 or 67 black faced Dual Showman with JBL d130's many years ago, it sounded pretty good.

Hey, Gene. Thanks for the fine tip. No, the Jetglo 1971 is the only one 21 fretter in there.

Obviously, that handrest is not period-correct.
Even more obviously, the Mapleglo... erm, the guitar with the natural finish in the background is out of step with the rest of the picture.

That shot of three Jetglos, back to back to back, with all the old feature goodies, really sent my bloodpressure skyrocketing, Then I saw the 21 fretter!

The more I look at that one, it looks like midnight blue also, unless they just got darker over the years and mine is really an Azureglo too, That would be a shame as the original Azureglo was a really nice light color, and that would explain also why I haven't seen any for a long time. Maybe also they were like Burgandy's, some light and some dark. In that shot it looks identical to mine which is also identical to a new midnight blue, I just don't know anymore.... but I know I saw a light one a few years ago, the Azureglo as I rememeber them.
