This one scares me ...
it's a 97 ... it was never gigged but it was refretted ... then it has emg pickups ...

that modded bass would sound good IMO, but not "better" than the proper pickups

His response to the re-fret issue...
It is a pretty new bass but the problem was that I
didn't play it much but it stayed in a case most of
the time. But from what me and my guitar tech can
figure that one it was a so so fret job from the
factory and some frets in the upper register raised up
alittle. So that was the problem. But it had a re fret
from 12 to 20 and that section of the board was sanded
down then when he finished the re fret he leveled the
whole board. Also because I am picky and I like pretty
low action.
