it's a 97 ... it was never gigged but it was refretted ... then it has emg pickups ...

the pickups can be removed and all of the original stuff put back in ... but why would a 97 that has never been gigged need refretting?

That's what I'd like to know. A refret on a bound Ric is no minor operation.

As for the rest, yes it could be returned to stock, but at what additional cost?

No clue on the refret, usually they come pretty good out of the box, but then again why put a preamp and a PJ setup in a Ric?

It sounds like there is no routing required to install a P bass pickup in the neck position? Or do you mean any additional routing would be covered by a new pickgaurd?

Seriously, I've never had the pickguard off any of my Ricks.

Didn't Roger just put a coupla jazz bass p/u's at an angle?
Plus, I'm a huge Glover fan, it'd be different if it was HIM selling the bass.

that modded bass would sound good IMO, but not "better" than the proper pickups

the big issue here is it looks awful

His response to the re-fret issue...

It is a pretty new bass but the problem was that I
didn't play it much but it stayed in a case most of
the time. But from what me and my guitar tech can
figure that one it was a so so fret job from the
factory and some frets in the upper register raised up
alittle. So that was the problem. But it had a re fret
from 12 to 20 and that section of the board was sanded
down then when he finished the re fret he leveled the
whole board. Also because I am picky and I like pretty
low action.

He doesn't state in the ad if he includes the original pickups. At least then you could restore it if you got a new pickguard.
