If they went to the bother of macking a quality instrument, why did they not come up with a totaly original design rather than a poorly realised copy?
It' looks yucky!

I see nothing wrong with it, it's an almost copy, live with it.

You're not going to last long here. The cheap Japanese rip-offs of years ago are one thing because they already exist, this is different.

An almost copy? If anything won't sound like a Rick than this would be it!

It's an infringement on a RIC design...and one of those won't be living with me!!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Putting looks, copyright infringement, and those lovely dots aside, why would anyone pay the same money for a copy than for the real thing?

I fail to see the logic of that argument. A copy is a copy either way.

If I ever see a 5 string Sandberg Ric copy I would buy it in an instant ... It would be superior to any 5 string bass that came out of the Ric factory.

Looks to be of higher quality than most companies make when they steal a design from Ric. But, if you were going to make a copy of that model, I think the neck through is one of the most important design features you should keep personally. The pickups look butt ugly also.

Jeff Rath - I am with you on this !

Sandberg - Yes they have copied the shape of the Ric. However that will be it. It isnt a neck through its a bolt on. It is also active with a 3 band EQ. Basically Its a Musicman Stingray soundalike but with the Ric looks. Is that a copy ? In my opinion no ? Its like the kit car of the 356 Speedster with a VW Beetle motor. It does everything well....looks like the speedster...but isnt one at all !

I have experience of this make. They are German and some of the finest made basses I have ever come across....they are amazing ! I would buy one too !

Sandbergs are like Sadowsky or Lakland basses in quality.
