New joiner/first Ric

Post by Jasoncsh35 »

Hi everyone,

I can now officially join the forum as I purchased my first Rickenbacker at the weekend. A 330/6 Jetglo.

I've only been learning for a few months so will be a while before I can make good use if it :)

Welcome to the club, Jason. It's a good feeling owning your own Rickenbacker, isn't it? :D

Thanks Ric_ovic, it certainly does! Can't wait to get some good tunes out of it now. The stuff I'm learning is Weller, The Kinks, Small Faces so I'm pretty sure I've made the right purchase. Just need a better amp to go with it now (once my wallet recovers from the shock of the weekend).

Welcome, Jason! Nice guitar
I have found this group of mates to be the nicest, best-informed, funniest bunch of pen-pals I've ever run across online. But I have to warn you: this forum may be bad for you if you acquire MRAS (Multiple Rickenbacker Aquisition Syndrome). Symptoms include a flattened bank account and an angry or jealous spouse
Don't listen to me, just look at some great pictures, learn something new and have some laughs with the rest of us and don't be shy with the photos :P
BTW I don't think you have to own a Rick to post here... you just have to be crazy about them

A gorgeous looking Rickenbacker, Jason. Welcome.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Welcome Jason, she's awful purdy! Most anything you need to know about that guitar can be answered here by the local Ric fanati... I mean pros. 8)

Be sure to add her in the Registry as well.

Thanks again guys, I didn't expect so many welcome mesages :D

I'm really pleased with it and hope to share some info here and also learn a lot from you guys.

I could well see myself buying another one in time....certainly once I get to grips with it. The only thing I'm struggling with is getting that jangley sounds...but I think that may be down to my little practise amp that I have :( So hopefully I can research what equipment I need to go with the Ric...

Welcome, Jason!

Jangle, hey? You could try a VOX AC-15 or AC-30.

And for the ultimate in jangle, get yourself a Rick 12 and a good compressor.

This will also get you on the road to RAS.

Cheers jingle_jangle. Funny enough I was looking at an AC15, as I wouldn't be able to get an expensive amp through 'mission control' if you know what I mean  I might look further into that option!

Welcome Jason. Your Rick is beautiful.

You have uttered some famous words . . . "I could well see myself buying another one in time." I met some of these fine forum folks at the 75th anniversary celebration and uttered those very same words. Now two years later I have nine going on ten Ricks. Welcome and beware
