Love that MWP

Mine would be simply a reissue 1959 360F in FG with trapeze
i'd be very happy with one of these as my sig model

I thought maybe that was the guitar; I'm a big Church fan, and I remember seeing that guitar up for auction on Ebay. I have a copy of the RIC poster of MWP holding the original. I'll probably bring it to SoCalCon as a backdrop. Does anyone know why MWP sold the guitar? I remember hearing a rumor that his original was stolen at one point, and the thief agreed to return the guitar if MWP apologized for being a jerk about something or other, but that's just a rumor I heard. I don't mean to imply anything bad about MWP, especially because I'm a big Church fan.

Paul, can I confirm at this point that I am not the thief that you refer to. I know that's not your implication, but I just thought I should clarify.

I remember chatting with Marty about this guitar. I'm fairly sure he had more than one made. I don't know if this is the one in your poster but this one had the vibrato installed most of its life with him.

Clive, you are correct; I was definitely NOT implying any thievery on your part. The rumor I heard was about his original 60s era guitar in any case.

I am not surprised that MWP wanted a relica or two of his old guitar; when I saw them at the Wiltern Theatre, MWP took his Rick off after one song, unpluggeged it, and bowling tossed it across the width of the stage to his guitar guy-nuts! The guitar slid across the floor of the stage like a rocket sled. I don't knkow how he did it, but it was impressive, if painful, to watch!
