320 BG for $950?

Post by dwinn »

hey, I have the opportunity to purchase an early 80s 320 in Burgundyglo for $950. The tuners have been changed but I'm pretty sure it's all original other than that. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Do you think that is a good deal? I don't see many of these guitars. ThanksImageImage

If you don't take that deal, you have the moral obligation to help a forumite get it.

I don't recall seeing a Rick for sale for less that 1100 in recent monthes.

buy buy buy!

Then, polish polish polish-that thing needs a thorough clean and polish with Scratch X and Zymoel!

-It has the original style headstock with Klusons!! :D

-Old style dark BG, if I'm not mistaken

Wow, I would be all over that if I had some spare play money...

Oh the memories!! My very first Rick was an 80's BG 320. I paid more than this 4 years ago! But.... it was in mint condition!

Do those tuners look original? The lady said her boyfriend changed them out but I'm wondering if he changed the old ones out and put the originals back on.

My going in philosophy on Rics at this point is if there's less the four digits to the left of the decimal, buy it. It can be fixed, refinished, put back together, whatever and still save money over a new one!

Seriously, I wouldn't wait a minute longer on that one at that price..

I've got an '80 320 BG that is identical to this guitar. My guitar came with nickel-plated Klusons. I can't see enough detail to see if these are the same, but they look correct. I got mine in '92 for $320 without a case. It now resides in a silver reissue case and has been fitted with toasters, Accent, black knobs, plexi TRC, and a '64 jackplate. Buy Buy Buy!

I was looking at the headstock and the TRC doesn't have the Made in USA logo. Should I be worried this is a Rick copy, like a Greco?ImageImageImage

Looks like Grover Rotomatics originally, then switched to Klusons for looks, which is odd because the original screw holes from the Grovers remain, which spoils the looks, so...it's confusing.

A good price, and the holes can be filled and touched up easily.

either buy it or pass it on someone here, it is great deal! if you agonize over the silly thing someone else will find it in the meantime. i haven't seen better price since like 1990.
