it looks like the neck is also unbound,how weird is that? and this combination looks better w/black pickguard,imo...although i am biased....(see avatar)

Is the board saw cut for the inlays, and left as is or is there an actual dark inlay material in there?
Actually, I wish I knew the production numbers too. They do seem to come up a lot less than a '68 or '72.

They can't be that rare, 2/3 of my Ricks are from this time period!Does anybody have a theory why there are so few basses for sale from the 69-71 range?
