i guess i should go back into the beatles forum and slag mccartney some more.
Hey now, it's not like this is the Metal Forum!
It's all in good fun anyway! McCartney is the reason I play bass and he's still my favorite, but he has certainly handed out his fair share of cheese!

That was my feeling while watching also, Kev.
It was tough being in high school back then (graduated in 1985). All my friends were either into stuff like Motorhead or the Scorps (or Michael Jackson!), and I was into Zeppelin, Floyd, Rush and Yes.

Try doing that same routine with music (graduated 1984, similar tastes in music) in Kentucky. Talk about a bit behind the curve, musically.

Then, there are things that, well, are so bad they are terrible....Well, that's what we have here.

Christ, don't ever forget how bad the 80's were...
LOL

Never really listened to Manowar. I at least made it through that video, as opposed to that Sweet video "Turn it Down" or something like that, with the really clanky Rick...

The weird thing about all this is that when we were in school we were just "rockers" and were into Motorhead, Sabbath, Rush, Purple, Rainbow, Zep, Floyd, Genesis etc etc. There were no rock subdivisions (no pun intended) at our school, which I personally think is how it should be. I hate music being compartmentalized. I don't believe in "good music & bad music" either, only music that you like and music that you don't.

Just to add fuel to the fire: I LOVE this......

Still one of the best bands I've ever seen live. In fact I think you probably have to see them live to "get them" (although obviously some never will)....

If you listen to a lot of their stuff, it makes me think of Lord of the Rings scored by Ennio Morricone meets Wagner. If that doesn't sound like your bag, stay away.
