The Dark Knight
Re: The Dark Knight
After the second viewing, I am upgrading to an A. I couldn't find any real faults with it, and it was just as gripping the second time. I'm glad I saw it again - I'm satisfied until DVD release.
Re: The Dark Knight
I had high expectations for this movie, and I was not disappointed. Heath Ledger did an amazing job making the Joker character his own.

I'm going to see it tonight......hopefully the crowds have died down enough (I'm not a people person).
I enjoyed "Batman Begins" and this looks to be a great follow up. For now though my favorite Christian Bale performance is as "Bateman" (Patrick Bateman) in "American Psycho".

Re: The Dark Knight
I forgot about that one. FREAKY!!!
Re: The Dark Knight
I saw it monday, in IMAX. That's the way to see it imho. It was amazing. Not really much bothered me. And the hype surrounding Ledger.. all true. He was that good. i still think of the character as the joker and not someong playing the joker.. which doesn't happen to me much. His voice, his mannerisms, his tics. Watch it just for him if you have to.

I have an avatar of the "magic trick" but this forum won't let me use it.. too big.

I am super stoked to go see it, haven't had a chance yet but it looks phenomenal. I'm not even a big comic kind of dork or huge batman fan, it just looks really well done.
Kinda makes me want to watch all 5 (?) other Bat-movies first, then see it, but that's too much screen for one day or weekend.
I didn't really care when Ledger passed away, figuring it was another hollywood pretty boy wasted, but this looks like it can redeem him IMO, and that's sad. He's the first Joker to be intimidating in the previews!
Cheers,

Re: The Dark Knight
Totally agree. Ledger steals the movie, though the old crew of Oldman, Caine and Freeman do an excellent job in their understated way too. Bale is great, but the script and final cut leave him overshadowed.scott_s wrote:I had high expectations for this movie, and I was not disappointed. It is incredibly, unremittingly dark for a Hollywood flick. It makes Batman Begins look like a Disney product.
