(yes, a repeat of a thread from the bass forum...but I want to make sure I cover all possibilities in my search for this brave, brave man).
Fellow Rickenbacker Fanatics (and I say that with much affection and love), please read the following excerpt from a piece in the Globe and Mail newspaper by Rheal Seguin, regarding Paul McCartney arriving in Quebec City for his outdoor concert this past Sunday night...
"Sir Paul waved to the crowd as he got off the plane and walked toward his limousine. Many had lost hope that he would stop to sign their cherished Beatles memorabilia at least not until he came across a diehard Beatles fan who held-up a Rickenbacker bass guitar similar to the model Paul McCartney played. He asked his limousine driver to stop, took the man's felt pen and autographed the guitar before rushing off to the Château Frontenac hotel in the Old City".
So, which one of us was this? A very creative way to get an autograph! Nicely done.
But...who would be so brave/foolish as to take their prized bass into that situation, even if it were only a hundred people waiting for McCartney at the airport?
Okay, which one of us was this????

Mick: Nothing ventured - nothing gained.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
