There's a nice looking 3001 Autumnglo? on Ebay UK.
I was never that keen on these when I first saw them in the '80's, but if I had the funds I'd love to own this one.....it would make a nice companion for my Montezuma Brown 4003:

Rickanbacker prices are very high in the UK,so I suspect this little beauty to go for quite a high price ,considering they are rarely seen over here.
3001 on ebay UK....nice!

Hi guys, the bass you are talking about is actually in Northern Ireland. As I speak it is currently at 390 GBP which is approx 700 US dollers???? To be honest I don't think too many people rave about them over here, cos they ain't a mainstream guitar. By the way the reserve price aint met yet, but I wouldn't think it will be higher than 500 GBP. Is it worthwhile putting a bid in for this, are they quite rare?

I don't know that I'd actually call them "rare", but there aren't really a lot of them around. I don't really know the RIC production #'s, but it seems that they never really caught on with the buying public. They aren't as 'pretty' as 4000 series basses, & they are bolt-on neck/single pick up basses that are quite heavy.
But they have a great sound & I love, love, love my 1978 3001. Fat, creamy tone with just enough of the signature Rick punch. Terrific action too. My band went in the studio awhile back & I recorded 6 songs with it, plugged straight in to the board, completely dry - GREAT tone.
I only paid $350 US for mine 10 years ago & going by your exchange rate showing the one in question at approx. $700 US I would say that is at the high end of the price spectrum (at least here in the States) for those basses. Going by eBay listings, most sell for around $550 - $700 US. Ricks do seem to go for more overseas on account of their scarcity. If you're near the seller & can go check out the bass I would.
Mani can't be wrong!

It looks like the same bass was relisted and was won using "BIN" for £800! I bought one in August from Ricsrus (great dealer, nice bloke, accurate description of stock and no bull) for £650 including delivery and original hard case. Truth is, in the UK - if you list it when somebody wants it the prices get out of control. Most of the 4003s on eBay UK don't even go for £800!
