Need 5th blend knob only-modern/current RIC style

Post by paologregorio »

I'm missing the smaller, 5th blend knob from a set of RIC knobs (current/modern style). Does anyone know where I can buy one, or else have an extra one they could sell me so I don't have to buy a complete set?

I've been able to find one online that's similar, but it has a line pointer instead of a dot pointer, so it wouldn't match the other four.

Let me know, eh?

Thanks.

Can't help, but I wanted to commiserate. There is nothing worse than having your knob fall off.

Maybe I'll just buy another set of vintage knobs. They're more visible on a darkened stage than the new style knobs are anyway, plus they enhance the cool factor.

I sppose I could rob one of my unused Boss pedals for a knob and just get over the fact that it has a line pointer instead of a dot pointer.

A sharpie should convert that line to a dot.

You could always buy a set of five, then re-sell the other four as a 4001/3 set :-).

I'm not sure Boss knobs will fit - the later/current ones are for split-shaft pots, and I think even the earlier ones with a grub screw are a smaller shaft diameter for the standard far-east pots.

Bump: I'm still looking for a 5th knob/blend knob, modern/current RIC style, if anyone has an extra they'd like to sell me. :D

Check with SteveBenTammyGarnerBrown. They buy the guitar sets for their basses and most have couple of fifth knobs lying around. They also wouldn't venture into this area as there are too many strings.

Tamyy has too many posts not to assume she now has part ownership of the Garner collection.

Paul, I'm sure I have one kicking around in my parts bin. I'll send it to you for free if/when I find it. PM me with your mailing address. This is the silver topped one, right?

I've bought a couple of them from Mike Parks within the last couple of years to use for my sixth knobs.
