Strings Question.

Flatwounds now fitted- and I like em I only had about half an hour to play before coming in work, but so far so good. I think I prefer the sound for most of what I play, but I think the feel of them will take some getting used to! I also had grey fingers after playing, does that happen all the time or does it wear off once the strings are bedded in?

So now any buzzing I get (which is now reduced with the flats) will all be down to technique

Some strings, such as Chromes, have an oli on them that you can wipe off with alcohol.

Dan, that's correct. Your bass should have the .047mf tone cap, but not the .0047mf cap.

Sorry to ask this but are these milliFarad or microFarad capacitors? I honestly thought they were microFarad.

milliFarad = mF, microFarad = uF (because "u" is as close as a Latin alphabet can get to the lower case "mu" which is the abbreviation for "micro".
