An "Elderly" 4001 JG
Didn't someone want one of these?
Ask a LOT of questions as these guys tend to overate their pieces

I got my first RIC 4001, an early 75 model, 2 years ago for 600.00. It plays great but the truss rods need work. The threaded ends are bent. It had a bad, homemade pickguard, a cracked TRC and a poor refinish job. I jumped on it because it was the cheapest one I could find. I'm just a weekend garage band hobbiest and can't afford much more than that. I was aware of the cosmetic problems when I bought it (ebay BIN) but I was pretty unhappy when I found the truss rod problem. It may be cosmetically challanged but it plays like butter and I still love it. So I would agree, at that price ask questions.

I picked up my '74 for $800CAN two years ago. It is in fair shape, well worn on the body, but frets are still fine. Haven't had a need to play with the truss rods. I don't think that price is out of line.
I'm not that crazy aout he inlays on that year's models, as they are clear and rather dull looking.
