EBS Valvedrive opinions
I've been interested in getting a tube-based drive pedal for bass and was interested if anyone's had any experience with the EBS Valvedrive. I've used the Sansamp Bass Driver in the past, but have found it to be a bit sterile, so I was looking for a true tube solution (and don't tell me I need to go get an SVT!
).
Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
Give the Tech 21 VTBass a try also; I know it is not tubed but it sounds a whole lot better than the SABDDI. If I had known I would have brought mine to RIO.
Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
The Radial Bassbone might be worth looking in to. It's tube as well. I own a Classic distortion and Plexitube for guitar and find them quite sweet sounding and versitile.
Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
Hey Mike - I checked out the Bassbone web site but didn't see anything mentioning that it had a tube in it.
Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
I thought all the tone shaping products did, I know the guitar ones do. I'll check in to that, and apologise if I'm wrong on that.

Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
Correct, no tube, just read the manual off the website.

Re: EBS Valvedrive opinions
No worries Mike!
I think the VT pedal is more of what I'm looking for - I'll see if I can hunt one down in a local shop and give it a try.

Steve, email me your email address and I will send you a mp3 of a Rare Blend recording from our last gig in Baltimore, using the VT Bass pedal; this will give you one example of what it can sound like with a Rick, my March '73 4001 with TI Jazz Rounds on it.
