Boy George
Re: The Very Best Male Rock Vocalists
Eh what? You have to be kidding Jerry.shamustwin wrote:Boy George
You would put his vocal strengths up against some of the rock heavy weights that have been mentioned here? He's not a bad singer and all but............I just don't hear any soul or feeling in his singing style and his music has no appeal at all for me. I could not stand his stuff when it was on the radio. I would rather listen to The Thompson Twins and that's painful enough.
C'mon tell us you are kidding.

Re: The Very Best Male Rock Vocalists
There are a lot worse singers than Boy George listed in some of these posts IMHO, and I absolutely detest Boy George and Culture Club. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings so I'll not go in to detail, but dang, there are some really bad singers listed in this thread. To be the best, you need to have a great command of vocal range, stage presence, and be able to hold the audience in the palm of your hand. Only a few here really meet the standard required of being the very best.
Sorry, just my 2 cents worth.

Re: The Very Best Male Rock Vocalists
I apologize for taking credit for Steve Marriott. kenposurf had him in the 4th post!!
Re: The Very Best Male Rock Vocalists
No need to apologize Mike. Not everyone holds dear to the same set of standards that perhaps you and I do and I would bet that we would have completely different views on some subjects if we were to compare our tastes on certain music. People are entitled to their opinions and we can beg to differ. In a nice way of course. That's what makes the world go around.
What I like about this series is the answers give me an understanding of what sort of musical tastes are prevalent on this forum. Boy George not withstanding of course.
I can't say as I have had any real eye openers really. Except perhaps, Sean telling me that he has all of Paula Abduls CD's. That was a bit of a shock from Mr. Metal himself. I still think he was pulling my leg.
