5.8 on the Richter Scale, centered in Chino Hills in San Bernardino County.

Nuts! My heart was in my throat, and at least one of my cats freaked out. Two pictures fell off my bedroom wall, and the cable box and DVD player fell off the top of the TV in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The entry hall light fixture was swaying quite wildly. I just heard a siren pass by as well. No visible damage to the house upon inspection.

HA! Graham's just experienced his first So. Cal Earthquake! It's much larger than the shaker he experienced back home a couple of months back!

My local LB online paper (?) already has an article posted: http://www.lbpost.com/

You guys sound freaked out by this. I would have thought you'd be used to them by now. Seriously though - I hope everything's (and eveyone) is O.K.

It felt a bit long, at least to me; there was a short jerky shake, followed by what felt like a pause, followed by longer and heavier shaking.

Happy Hour starts earlier today...possibly at lunch, which, come to think of it, IS RIGHT NOW!!!

More detailed info: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/rec ... 383980.php

Depth of quake: 7.6 miles!!! No apparent damage at epicenter of Chino Hills, according to the city's fire chief. The depth of the quake apparently accounts for this.

Not me, I'm from Da Bronx, where the worst quake that I felt was a 3.6 or somthing like that back in '86.

We had to evacuate the building I work in for awhile. I'm on the top floor of the building. This place was really rocking!! I'm sure though the earthquake stopped, the building was still swaying.
The post that I started the thread with, was the first time I ever posted under a desk or during an earthquake.
It was loud too. The din started before we even felt anything. I'm also pretty close to the epicenter.

My wife just went home to check on our birds, our stuff and my Ricks.
I hope everyone else and there's is okay!
Is Graham still in SoCal?

Everyone in the building I work in was freaking out. The building is on rollers, so we really feel even the slightest of quakes. I had snuck out to check out guitars at the local pawn shop. Everything on the walls were swaying pretty badly, but nothing fell. I'm sure my gf's bird freaked out and my Pez dispenser collection probably went down like dominoes.

Miss those actually, just had a massive wind and thunderstorm that destroyed several trees, a few houses, and took the power out of whole town for a good 5 hours. Darn, all those clocks and Tv to reset. Glad you're all ok, was there for the 93 quake, and just happened not to take the 10 to work that morning. Came to find out later that it had collapsed right where I would have been, and it was very foggy that morning!
