'Tis the season
'Tis the season
Well, it's that time of year again. Time to start shopping for school supplies and uniforms (if the school/district requires them). I had to go in for the freshman orientation tonight and got to meet with a number of the students' parents. The reactions were great though, and will probably stick with me for a long time. They just looked at me as if asking themselves "Are you for real?" I suppose that's the nature of it all, as they look up at me, coming off a day's work and then having to show up at school for 3 hours of tours, speeches, more tours, etc. The most that I can tell is that the students have no idea what to think, as I look like a senior to them as opposed to their teacher. It's gonna be a fun year.

This year is my senior year. Started Friday, and I'm looking forward to getting out of jail! I met all my teachers, I have no complaints with any of them. I saw several of my teachers from last year on Friday, too, and they all enjoyed seeing me and hoped the best for me this year.

Hey Jake, dig deep this year! It's a great feeling to know you did your best - and college is going to be a whole different experience. A few months of hardship now will open up opportunities for the rest of your life.... We'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!
Dan, I feel your pain - I'm looking at doing some postgrad study next year and had to be revived when I saw the fees....
Finally, Matt. all the best for the new school year. Teachers are the (extremely undervalues, often taken for granted) salt of the earth...
