Bone acoustic guitar bridge pins and saddles.

Worth buying to replace the plastic ones on my acoustic?

Dunno, Bob. I've had the same idea too. Just never got around to it.

Found some here

But I've heard mixed views on this. Just wondering whether it's worth splashing out the cash.

I have a bone saddle on my S.L. Mossman. It is a replacement that the luthier did when I had a refret job done a couple years ago. I still have the original plastic bridge pins in place. And they're looking a little...um...used.

I think the original saddle was probably bone, too. I've received comments on what a bright, ringing tone I get from the guitar. But I attribute that more to the fact that I habitually wear metal fingerpicks.
