It's ok to post For Sale ads here. In fact, there is an entire section dedicated to that:

it doesn't look double bound to me. it just looks like black tape around the edge of the body.

Yeah - IMO - that price is good - for two of them (with some cash left over). Good luck!

I'm not impressed. The seller clearly knows the 4001 isn't worth anywhere close to whats he's asking--he's looking to rip off someone who doesn't know any better. Just taking a wild shot in the dark and won't loose any sleep if some misguided person thinks it's worth $5K. I couldn't live with myself knowing I ripped someone off. It's no better than scalping charity concerts or profiteering from natural disasters. Disgusting.

But Fred, it comes with pictures of the bass and models - that has to be worth the premium!

Sean, I never thought of black tape....

$5000? Say what?

I'm in a bad enough mood from work today. No wonder the guy gets flagged on CL.

Must be a good looking model that posed with it. :?

It's the premium electrical tape applied as a stripe around the body that accounts for the high price, I think.

He couldn't sell that for half of what he's asking. You can get three basses like that for what he wants.

I can just hear it: "Yes, Honey, I listed the bass like you wanted."

Granted all those rings & tattoos cost him a lot of money, but 5 grand for buckle rash and electrical tape? Oh, and he'll throw in the porn photos too
If you like that deal, then I've got a great big red bridge I'll sell you. It's very shiny!

I added my .002 to the above mentioned Harmony Central forum thread, BTW 8)
