New Bass Cab

Post by deblase4001 »

Well I decided to buy myself a birthday present. I picked up a Schroeder 21012 bass cabinet locally from craigslist. It is in excellent condition and I got a sweet deal on it. I am very happy with it :D - perfect fit for my 4001. I can't wait to gig with it. Here's a couple photos.

Is that the regular or the light? http://www.schroedercabinets.com/21012.htm

I was considering a Schroeder but in the end I ordered a Dr. Bass 2460 NEO, it should be here in a few weeks.

I like the idea of the Schroeders. A pair of 1212's should provide some serious thump without folding up this little (and not so young anymore) spine of mine. But I don't know anyone that has one or where I could play one. Has anybody heard good/bad things? The reviews I read on Musician's Friend a few months back kinda made me think that Epifani might be a better choice.

You are much better off spending time in the amp forum at Talkbass for a real world assessment of these booteek cabinets.

I've heard the Schoeder cabs, they do sound very nice.

Jeffrey, let us know what you think of the Dr Bass cab.

I'd like a new 2 x 12 cab. Undecided yet of which one to get.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Ken: it's the regular version - about 80lbs. Still noticeably lighter than the 410 ampeg cab I had.

Sean: I've had good luck with the hartke head but have been thinking about getting something different. What do you use?

Greg, which Ampeg 410 cab? And other than weight, what tonal differences have you found. I have the SVT-410HLF cab, and it is a ba** buster.

+1000!

I use either a Markbass LM II (500 watts rms @ 4Ω) or a Walter Woods Super (650 watts rms @ 4Ω).
