Tony Jackson's Solo Album

I am wondering if anyone has a list of the songs, composers and musicians for Tony Jackson's solo LP. By the way, what was the tile of this album?

I have a CD on the "Strange Things" label titled "Just Like Me" (in mono)that seems like a 45/CD compilation. The band is called the "Tony Jackson Group". No composers listed. Songs are: You're My Number One; Just Like Me; Walk That Walk; Watch Your Step; This Little Girl of Mine; Stage Door; I'm the One She Really Thinks a Lot Of; Let Me Know; Follow Me; He was a Friend of Mine; Fortune Teller; Understanding; Come On and Stop; Love Potion #9; Never Leave Your Baby's Side; You Beat Me to the Punch; That's What I Want; Bye Bye Baby; Shake; Anything Else You Want. It appears from the liner notes thatr there were two EPs, but no album is mentioned. Songs (above)2,10,12,and 19 were from the second EP- done in Portugal (where my Pop's family is from). The rest are listed as 45s: Tracks 1,3,7,8,9,13,15,and 20 on the CBS label; tracks4,5,6,11,14,16,17,and 18 from the PYE label. Hope that helps.

He never made an album, just singles and one ep in Portugal. The cd John mentions came out a few years ago and is really worth having it as it has everything Tony ever released. There are some songs from the 90s as demos, including When You Walk In the Room. But these songs(I heard five of them) were never published officially.

John: My apology for not noticing that you had listed these more than two weeks ago. "You Beat Me To The Punch" is one of my favourites and has a nice 12-string riff on it that is certainly derived from the "Needles and Pins" opening riff.

I have found a couple of CDs in the "Rare 60's Beat Treasures" series. Vol 3 has both sides of Tony Jackson's CBS 45 "Follow Me" / "Walk That Walk". Vol 5 has a track titled "Save A Dream For Me" by 'Tony Jackson' with the writing credit also given to 'T. Jackson', It doesn't sound like the Tony Jackson we know. Does anyone know who it might be? The CDs are on the 'GONE BEAT' label. Vol 5 was made in Hungary and Vol 3 was made in Israel, Both CDs feature a photograph of the Tony Jackson Group (both are from the same session).

This is some obscure American singer who also released a single I once bought, thinking it was Tony Jackson, single was called Sayonara

A few of his recordings are on the Internet and you can access them from Napster, or at least your could last week. Definitely not the Tony Jackson of the Searchers.

I would like more information with regard to the Tony Jackson "Just Like Me" compilation. While the songwriters are not listed is their any credit for the performers who backed him up? Michael, John?

With regard to Tony's recording of Love Potion No. 9, does anyone else find the lead riffs all the way through the verse takes away from the vocal, or is it just my recording. I find the lead work very creative but it is over done and annoying by the end of the song. Otherwise, I quite like Tony's rendition.

"Fortune Teller" was recorded by The Merseybeats on a FONTANA single in the 60s.
