Hi - I am a new Ric Owner...pics added

Post by Blaster »

This week I just picked up a used Rickenbacker 360 in a fireglo finish. It wasn't until recently that I had even thought about playing a Ric, since they didn't appeal to me years ago. After playing my friends Ric a few months ago, I was really impressed with the Ric and the overall quality and thought it would be a guitar to get.

The Ric I bought is in near new condition and has the hi-gain pickups. The guitar plays wonderfully and it sounds even better. All of the pickup positions are clear and even sounding. There is an extra knob which I think is a blend knob, but not too sure...anyone know?

Overall, this will be a keeper

Welcome to the forum Kurt. The 5th knob fades the neck pickup out.

Welcome to the forum Kurt. Yes that's a blend knob. It is a very effective device too.

Welcome, Kurt.

I think I remember George Harrison once saying that he didn't find the 5th knob useful, but honestly, the Rick knobs were the first ones that really made sense to me. Having said that, I'm still learning all of the tonal variety that they make possible, and I've been playing them for several years now.

You're going to love the looks, feel, and sound of your new 360. Congrats!

This has to be the most concise and accurate description of the 5th knob I've ever seen! Very cool, Ken. And welcome Kurt!

Welcome, Kurt!

I suggest that you download a copy of the Rickenbacker manual from the corporate site (http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdfs/manual.pdf) ... it contains an excellent explanation of the controls on your guitar.
